It is with great pride and excitement that I am writing to you with this special VIP announcement. As one of our group of former guests or one who has signed up for Piedras y Olas information off of our website, I want you to be a part of the first group to know that Piedras y Olas is developing a new luxury oceanfront community in partnership with Paradise Bay. We call it Marea Alta, meaning “high tide.” I’m certain this new project will both enhance the notoriety of San Juan del Sur and boost the value of investments at both Paradise Bay and Piedras y Olas. If you’ve followed our progress over the last years you know how our reputation has grown both nationally and internationally. We are honored that Piedras y Olas is considered to be honored to be the premier resort development in Nicaragua. And we’re thrilled that the success of Piedras y Olas is able to sustain the important work of the A. Jean Brugger Foundation. Yet for some time, it’s been obvious to me that there are still folks out there who yearn to be “right on the water.” With that inspiration I have joined with Paradise Bay to create Marea Alta—a one-of-a-kind luxury community right on the ocean. We know that many people have been waiting for the kind of development we’ve envisioned. And to be able to create such a masterpiece at Paradise Bay (where the views are simply the most breathtaking in southern Nicaragua) is utterly remarkable. Best of all, Marea Alta will continue in the Piedras y Olas tradition of supporting the foundation and giving back to the people of San Juan del Sur. Right now, I cannot release many project details as they’re still being perfected. However, I can certainly fill you in on the basics. The idea for Marea Alta came to me when I first visited Paradise Bay with Alex and Ken, owners and creators of Paradise Bay. The views captivated me. Over the next few weeks, I re-visited the site many times and allowed myself to pursue a new vision. And it became clear to me that this is the idyllic spot to create a great community. It has everything: sweeping ocean views, lush terrain, the smells and sounds of the ocean, even a first-class infrastructure—all just a 1/2 mile from town. As you may know, many emerging developments are trying to imitate the success of Piedras y Olas. And there’s some concern that they will over-promise and under-deliver. But right here, right now, we have the opportunity to leverage everything we’ve learned at Piedras y Olas and go one majestic step further...at Marea Alta. We are still working on the master plan, but here’s what I can share so far: • Construction is set to begin the second quarter of 2008. Although this is all the information that we have to share at the moment, it is imperative to me that you hear this news directly from us at this time. There have been rumors of a new project but until now, nobody was privy to the facts. (And we are very happy to report that those rumors have brought an overwhelmingly positive response.) As former or potential clients of Piedras y Olas, you will automatically receive news of Marea Alta as it unfolds. If you have any questions or know someone you’d like to add to our contact list for updates, please contact Alex Wilson of Paradise Bay at awilson@pacificcoastparadise.com. I look forward to sharing more with you soon. Happy holidays! Sincerely, Chris Pelican
